Two leading museum operators in the UK have partnered with an augmented reality specialist to present holographic exhibits and experiences for students around the world. Imperial War Museum and the Science Museum Group have teamed up with tech firm Perception to highlight the museums’ collections and stories to online audiences using 3D desktop AR hologram technology. The museums have given access to Perception to parts of their internationally significant collections and stories. The partnership will see the museums showcase their collections to a global audience in a new, engaging way.
